Eyy if you finally have the chance to create a forum for the remake/reimagine etc.
Do hit us up. No pressure tho there's no need to rush, better have a n actual in working game than once again make it rushed and stress you out.

Thanks! I did consider making a separate space somewhere to discuss it, but I just don't know if there's enough to talk about right now. It would mostly be useful for getting input and suggestions, and frankly, I don't need too much of that right now. I'm not short on ideas, I'm short on time/energy.

Although that said, I do actually have a question for people: how do you guys feel about me redoing the backgrounds? To me, Aval0nX's original backgrounds are nostalgic as hell and they give the game a kind of charm. But...

1) Some of them are butt-ugly
2) They clash, sometimes to an extreme level, with the cartoony art of the characters. For example, check out this post, where Cream's posing art is basically ruined by the background.
3) They don't technically fit the lore: Vanilla+Cream canonically live in a place called Floral Forest Village, not some American suburbs. This is the least important point, but it does bug me a tiny bit, and will probably start bugging me even more if I start writing new events and stuff.

So I'm sort of wondering, should I replace the backgrounds? Or would that be changing too much? I could maybe keep them and just lower the brightness/contrast on the more terrible ones, so the character images don't get lost in a hideous super-loud background.

Yes they are

Personally in the example you posted I don't think it's all that bad considering the more 'realistic' AI generated Cream you've done, however with the original Cream graphics it does look bad - so your idea of keeping & altering them to reduce the details shown may work - some of the worse culprits I would think maybe deserve a better background than what's given already.

3) They don't technically fit the lore: Vanilla+Cream canonically live in a place called Floral Forest Village, not some American suburbs. This is the least important point, but it does bug me a tiny bit, and will probably start bugging me even more if I start writing new events and stuff.
Actually it depends on which 'version' of Sonic you're basing your version on.

If you look at the different Cartoons (Sonic X for example), Games (eg Sonic Adventure 2) & Movies of Sonic, there are some versions of the Sonic franchise that are based in 'Human' environments - so 'Floral Forest Village' could actually be a costal village based in a human world. There are
that state that the village is based on Sonic's world, it doesn't actually state where Sonic's world actually is - only that it's called

Doesn't necessarily mean Sonic is based in the USA either, he could be based in places like the UK where's there are costal villages that are in easy reach (via Trains & Motorways etc) to a nearby city or town.
- I wouldn't think/worry too much on this point though.. there's always a 'creative license' involved with any type of story development whether Games, Movies books etc

I definitely thing 'something' needs doing with the backgrounds as I agree they can be a little too distracting from the main foreground - just not sure what

how do you guys feel about me redoing the backgrounds?
Anything that helps you feel motivated and productive. Id love to see new BGs that have a consistent style. And if you get to a point where something code related is your bottleneck instead of art feel free to find me in the renpy discord. either the official one linked from the website or the subreddit discord is fine as I'm in both.

I'm fairly neutral on changing the backgrounds vs keeping the original art, though I would probably lean slightly towards keeping them as is (or just simple adjustments like lowering brightness/contrast) both for the nostalgia/charm factor from the original game like you mentioned, and more importantly, because the current backgrounds don't seem all that bad to me, and if you're already short on time/energy I'd much rather see a finished prototype build with your amazing new character art sooner rather than wait on background changes.

That said, if you find yourself really being bothered by them, and improving backgrounds would help you stay motivated and enjoying working on the project, I'd be totally fine with seeing them updated too.

Regarding updating the background images.
I think it depends a lot on what you want to do with the game in the future.

Do you want to release a whole product or do you want to gradually update it?

If the first option, then of course you should replace the background images.
If you plan a long release of updates, then you can ignore the backgrounds for now and focus on the characters. Besides, it's likely that by then there will be someone willing to help you with the images.

I think you should replace the backgrounds and have it be set Floral Forest Village.

YES EXACTLY!!!!! We need it to loop again!!!!
AFAIK the music does play/loop while playing but it only starts if you either play tutorial or skip it & play in one sitting. The music doesn't play if you load in a save.

After a bit of googling & experimenting I've found a way to 'toggle' it but you need to do this each time you load a save

Firstly, you need to do a little editing in your favourite TXT editor (Like 'Notepad' for windows - I prefer Notepad++ though).
You only need to do this bit once - not every time

* Browse to your BSC game folder & open the 'renpy' folder
* Open the 'common' folder
* Open the '00console.rpc' file into 'Notepad++' to edit (you could back this up if you like)
* Search through the file for the line 'config.console = False' (It was around line 108 in my copy)
* Change 'False' to 'True'
* Save the file

Secondly, open BSC & load in your save file
* Press [SHIFT] and [O] together to open the console (You press [ESC] to leave the console)
* Type in 'play music main' (without quotes) to start the music up
* Type 'music stop' to stop the music playing

There are 2 other music file you can play
'play music intro'
'play music porngroove1'

If another music plays (& stops) then you'll lose the 'main' music but since the only music I can find that triggers while playing in-game is 'porngroove1' so if you don't trigger those events you should be OK (I believe this happens only twice in game - Buying the grand cookie pack/sex with Marine & you've hugged Cream 13 times).

You can just open the console & re-run the main theme again if that happens

Absolutely all for lore synergy. Floral Forest Village all the way.

Hello, I have a problem when I start a new game, it gives me a notice to read. Even if I click on the right hand or breast, it doesn't start the game, how do I do it?

Yes I just tried again it really doesn't work do you have a backup of the start of the game to give me maybe it would work?
Not sure why clicking the areas don't work for you however this is a save I just made that is the first thing you'll see straight after clicking the appropriate area.

You need to unzip it & place both files into
C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\BabysittinCream_Betamix-1591548804\
(your BSC folder might have a different name/number)
Note that you MIGHT also have some files in this folder already - If you do back these up somewhere else (for safety) & delete them from the folder

When you start the game click on [Load] & then the '9' at the bottom & it should show up in the first box
(I did it this way so that I don't accidentally overwrite my main saves on page '1')

Alternatively you could rename the '9-1-LT1.save' file to '1-1-LT1.save' & it'll show up on your first page when loading instead

Like I said, I don't even know if it would be possible to set up something like that in the first place. Not being a program I would just leave the laptop in game. There have been a lot of players who have said they never used it. That's great. There have been those who said that the laptop made the game more enjoyable for them. Myself, I only used the lap top for money and energy.

I too have only used it for that and to do the daily work mission because it is part of the game's functions XD but surely there are those who took advantage of all the tricks to skip the entire game and go directly to what interests them :p which is not that it is bad each one goes for what interests them and that's it but if the energy and money options were not on the laptop the game would not really be completable since with the little energy it gives you and the limited money that you get you could not even do half the game since you would not have enough interaction time to raise trust or intimacy. I played the original flash version before this one and when completing the game I barely managed 1 intimate interaction with cream on the last night since I barely managed to raise trust that last day and not even enough to get her comfortably completely naked before day 7. As I said, the only bad thing about it is the limited time and the little energy to carry out the actions which would make the game incomplete, if you mess up a couple of actions you could even get to day 7 without having had any intimate interaction or with cream and not having contact with the other characters, what I do appreciate is that they released the BL lol the chat with knuckles where he says that they blocked it at the request of the players is very funny XD and I hope that the version with the new graphics is released soon and that there is more gameplay after day 7 to replay the full game
