is not supported on Android. If it is possible to get it working outside changing the code, I don't know how. The starting place to whats causing the problem is probably related to Android version, and how Android gives permissions to apps for handling files.
I figured I'd give it a bit more of a look on the code side, and I found some interesting information. It turns out that the

uses

which does not work on mobile in ActionScript 3.0. Instead,

should be used, which the

version does use. This is likely because

is supported in AIR and Flash Player 9.
Looking at the .apk version (are you using that?), it appears to me that its an AIR version and should be using the right code. So, now that I'm here I don't know why it wouldn't work if you are using the .apk version.
Note: I have coding experience, but no Flash or ActionScript experience. All the info I found was from a few quick searches, so more can probably be found.
Edit: I just realized I only looked at loading from file, not saving to file. I took a look at save to file, and it looks to match pretty well with loadFromFile(). The flash version uses FileReference, and the AIR uses File & FileStream.
Edit 2: I notice that the Stack Overflow I linked uses

while

uses

. If Android isn't giving global file permissions to the AIR app, that would explain why it might error out.
Edit 3: Had some more inspiration and searched for "File.documentsDirectory flash android error". Found
You must be registered to see the links
that explains that

means "File or directory access denied". I'm going to see if I can get it working in BlueStacks. I stopped the error from appearing by going to Settings > Apps > Trials in Tainted Space > Permissions > Enable Storage.
It doesn't come up with a file browser to locate a file though, but that might be a BlueStacks issue. It gives it a name automatically. For BlueStacks the save files are stored at sdcard/data/com.taintedspace.www/ although it may be different on your device.
