TL;DR: Play this game if an idea of a good fantasy novel with many delicious sex scenes appeals to you. Skip it if you don't want to read a lot, or expect female MC broken and turned into a mindless slut.
Rise of the White Flower is an engaging, DnD-esque style story of a young mage - ambitious, gifted, beatiful and very, very horny. We meet our main character when she's fresh out of the academy, barely able to cast two spells in quick succession, and neck deep in crushing debt (apparently, student loans are a thing even in fantasy world). Over the course of her numerous adventures, she will gradually improve, growing in power, skill, fame and influence. Naturally, challenges before her will also keep getting worse and worse. It would be difficult to face them alone, but thankfully, White Flower is good with people and manages to build a net of trusty companions, friends and allies.
They are also all hot, and she will fuck every single one of them. At least as long as the player is inclined to do so.
LET'S TALK ABOUT SEX
I can honestly say that, while not perfect, this is probably my favourite game I have found on this site. Porn scenes alone would be enough to put it high on the list - I love the art style, and authors actually put effort into setting up erotic situations instead of throwing random, soulless sex at you. It's also somewhat kinky, with aspects of domination, power play, rough sex (MC is as good at taking it as she is at giving), and orgasm denial. None of that truly extreme, but just enough to scratch your itch if you are into that kind of thing.
Additionally, game let's you choose if you want to initiate sex with any of the characters, and if you want to keep it vanilla, so (with one exception) nothing is forced on you.
It's also worth nothing that majority of sex (or all of it, if you want) is either casual fucking, or at most friends with benefits situation. This is not really a dating simulator, at least not yet - there is one romance route currently in the game, and I believe more of them will be introduced later, but you can easily opt out of it and just shag whomever you fancy at the moment. Including the aforementioned potential love interest.
It also involves fairly generous amount of good (and optional) futa content.
HOW TO LEVEL UP YOUR MAGE
As I've mentioned before, this game seems to be heavily influenced by DnD - there are even character sheets of different party members available. It doesn't use any actual RPG system, and it's not an isekai story, but it's very clearly stuctured like a RPG campaign: main character goes on a quest with some of her companions; they face deadly challenges and ultimately prevail, growing stronger thanks to their experience; they go back to the city to collect reward, catch some downtime, and train. During downtime we explore backstories of our companions, progress the plot, meet some new people from time to time, and eventually, one way or another, get charged with another quest. Rinse, repeat.
I'm not saying that it's a bad thing - having a formula can be benefitial if it's a good one. This kind of story can be (at least to me) very immersive, and it's truly satisfying to watch how our heroine and her companions progress to new and new heights. And despite them reaching quite high, it all feels earned and deserved. Ultimately, it is a power fantasy, but a good one.
Characters are well crafted, and often have surprising depth to them - many of them are flawed, struggling with their own personal demons. Our heroine is not an exception here - she's a great main character, likeable, funny, sometimes a bit wicked, but she's also very realistic in her actions and motivations.
I would go as far as to say that you could cut all erotic scenes out of the story and I would still be very invested in this game - after reaching the end of current content I was genuinely interested in the story, and eager to read more.
NOTHING IS EVER TRULY PERFECT
Unfortunately, there are few flaws I have to mention here.
Writing is generally quite good, however, I did not like how it breaks the fourth wall on occasion - it does not mesh well with the overal tone of the story.
Some of the plot lines also seemed to go nowhere, and eventually disappear completely - still, it doesn't happen often, and the game is not complete yet, so maybe I will end up eating my words.
There is one sex scene that I believe is unavoidable once you get to a certain point, which is a minor problem at best on its own. However, the scene in question is a bit spicy, and while I personally liked it a lot, I can see some people not happy with having no say in whether or not they want to go along with it.
Finally, while the prose in general is not bad at all, it could clearly use an editing pass or two - there are some issues with incosistent spelling, outright misspellings, and some words are repeated way too much in certain passages.
JUDGEMENT DAY
Despite those complaints, I've still enjoyed my time with White Rose immensly, and I'm eager to see what's next to come!
