I did not know that. Time to try it then.
That's just stupid. It's just common sense to compare similar games in reviews.
On the one hand, of course that makes a difference. On the other hand, me, the customer just care about a good end product. And having a big budget does not automatically equal a good game and the same the other way around.

so I can't even play this... everytime i go through the options to recreate my previous saves (Act 1) the game either crashes or just gives me a few error screens and throws me back to the main menu... was this not play tested at all??? If we can't just import our saves then it's kind of important that the mechanic you implement to create a save actually works...

Like the others said, it's against the rules on this site. The reason they have to write it here is that many Being a DIK fans ignored those rules and review bombed this game, like they did with several other college themed games.
Fair comparison is one thing, but some people can't be "fair" and instead just throw shit.

Basically, the last update to College Kings 1 was really broken and the best solution was to move it to a separate game. They are also changing a lot of how the game works (like the fighting system) and the coding so I guess this was the best time to do it.

You will be able to import saves from the first game at a later date, but you can't right now. You can however recreate some of the choices with the Path Builder feature.
In a perfect world where people were fair about it, sure. But toxic Being a DIK fans have been trashing this game since day one, review bombing it and constantly throwing shit at it. That's why this rule exists, because toxic fans can't help themselves to trash games they consider "competition".

Importing saves haven't been implemented yet. Also, "Play Now" is bugged. Looks like it links wrong. You need to click "Path Builder" to play.

It's the only way it works for me (No advanced options expect the cheats are working as well)

It does. They decided to turn it into College Kings 2 after that update because it was really bugged because of old code and ruined some saves. College Kings 2 start when you return from Europe in version 14.
