VN - Ren'Py - In a Scent [Ep. 4 Part 1 v1.035] [Domiek]

First of all sorry for my english, but for the first time since I frequent this site that I push myself to do a game review.
For those who have to start from the beginning, I have only one suggestion: don't stop at the first half hour of the game (I was about to rate it 1/5) at that point, absurd and surreal story of an idiot boy who introduces himself into a family not his and is welcomed with open arms by the woman of the house, with childish and meaningless dialogues.
But then the story takes off, and flies really high, so much so that it deserves 5/5 stars for me.
The protagonist becomes increasingly serious (compared to the initial idiot) and authoritarian, pushing the tension and excitement higher, all seasoned with fantastic renders and animations.
The women are fantastic and hot, and for now only 3, but better few and good than many and equal to each other, also note the presence of a "live husband", a rare thing, who deserves to be betrayed by his hot wife.
Ultimately an excellent VN, which kept me in front of the computer willingly

like in the previous game from Domiek i found the perversion of the character very high, i can satisfy my perversion too thanks to the fact that the MC can do anything he want.
I also liked the fact that you can play this game without too many struggle., it doesn't really matter what decision you make, 99% you will get laid easily

It was one of the best games I've ever played. I laughed and had fun while playing. Animations and renders are great. One of the funniest games on this site.I'm looking forward to new updates. I wish success for the dev, this game really deserves it.

The art is good, but the writing absolutely killed me. The MC is stupid. He's an ignorant jackass completely blowing his cover, and the other characters mostly go along with it. I had to put it down.

There are many things to praise, but what's the point if I can't make it through the first hour of content without death by cringe?

This is a extremely high quality, well put together and hilarious game.

Personally, I'm not a fan of goofy, non-serious games where every woman wants your dick for outlandish or dumb reasons. But I still give this a 4 star due to it's high quality and genuinely funny writing. The problem is, I don't come to play an adult game / VN to laugh, I do it to jerk off and be aroused.

Pros:
- Extremely high quality renders
- Hot girls and scenes
- Hilarious writing

Cons:
- Non-serious, goofy storyline where predictably every woman wants your dick
- Lack of decision impact / player agency

Not for me, but should be great for others.

This game is fan-fucking-tastic, but it pains my soul that there are so many naysayers among this positive gluttony of 5-star reviews, dissuading so many newcomers from joining.

  • You don’t realize how important music is to your reading experience until you’ve gone from playing a great game one with stellar music to a mediocre one without any music at all. It sucks, but this game has music. It has great music.
  • A lot of times during my read-through — I’ll admit it — I thought of dropping this during a particularly bad scene or after a joke that really failed to land. But I never dropped it. You want to know? Because of this game’s music. The music is fantastic, and it’ll help you get over any of this game’s flaws.
  • 5/5.
• There’s music, and it’s exceptional.
  • Now, you’re probably thinking “What an idiot, this guy put the same point twice”. Well yes, I am an idiot, but I’m also a CORRECT idiot — the story of this game.
  • There is music, and it is fan-fucking-tastic, but there’s also music, and it’s exceptional. Don’t worry if you don’t understand this quite yet, one day you will my young padawan. There was a time I was like you too — a non-believer — but nowadays, I spend as much time leaving the open at the title screen, listening to the music while the pretty pictures fly by, as much I do actually playing it.
  • So yeah, exceptional music. And also pretty pictures.
  • And speaking of pretty pictures…
• The animations are stellar
  • My god, this game has won every award for favorite animation that I could possibly think of at time of writing this review. This game has…

    • My favorite funniest dancing animation of all time.
    • My favorite pickle-eating animation of all time
    • And… And… there’s more but I’m blanking, okay?! Cut me some slack, it’s hard to come up with this shit when your cock just keeps hitting the keyboard as you type. These animations just do that to me.
    • That’s right, did I mention that the animations in this game make your cock GINORMOUS?? You have to read it — you’d be an idiot not to.

• The MC is an idiot, but he’s the best kind of idiot
  • I’m 99% sure half the people who didn’t like this novel never made it past the opening sequence. Why? Because our MC is one of the biggest goddamn losers I’ve ever seen in my goddamned life, but don’t let that demoralize, audience. He’s not just any kind of loser, he’s the best kind of loser. Why??
    • My man is the best kind of loser because he’s that kind of friend that’s always getting in trouble and always a pain in the ass, but he’s so goddamned funny you can’t imagine a life where you’re not hanging out with him. Here’s some of the things this idiot might do:
      • A girl tells this guy she’s married and he should back off, and my man just rushes straight towards her, proclaims he’ll turn her straight by fucking her wife, and starts sucking a pickle. You might ask “Where in this conversation did this lady say she was lesbian and had a wife?”, “Where did she say she’d find him attractive sucking a pickle”, and “Where did she lady say he could rush towards her and start having his way with her?” — Nowhere! But this guy’s just a dumbass, optimistic thinker, thinking of the best possible outcome for himself in every situation, and I can respect that.
      • A girl tells this dude she wouldn’t date him because she doesn’t know how to give blowjobs. My man starts deepthroating a pickle to show her how it’s done — and shit, I’m not joking about this pickle thing, this guy actually does deepthroats a pickle over the course of this this game.   • This guy’s a fucking idiot, but he’s the BEST kind of idiot. You’re missing out if you’re not reading a VN about this MC. Give it a read.
• This novel DOES things to me.

This novel is amazing, quite possibly the best novel to ever be produced in the AVN industry. As of 1.03b, I’d say their story has already climaxed: the protagonist has achieved the majority of his initial goals, and the majority audience has achieved climax as well — at least 3 times. At least.

Where else could a novel of this caliber possibly take the story next? No one really knows, but that’s why everyone’s so anxious about these coming weeks, months — or maybe even years. Something big is coming, and it’s going to be scary.

And that, my friends, is quite possibly why there are so many naysayers surrounding this novel: it’s because they’re scared. They’re scared that a game of such legendary proportions might possibly manage to disappoint them in the end, could quite possibly fail to deliver. They turn to fear. They get aggressive.

One of the best games i played from this site. Renders are fantastic, models are beautiful (especially MA). Animations, scenes and angles are top tier. Hope to see a lot more from this game and the dev 10/10

Overall a decent/good game. The render and animation are very high quality, which is the main sellign point of the game. The humour is not really my cup of tea, but it is good sometimes. It is well-polished and feels like a proper game.

The story is not great, the guy is an incubus and gets plopped into the human world where he is just randomly taken in by this family. A bit unrealistic and the story isnt really that interesting.
The character design is excellent , the characters are well designed and hot and don't use generic models that some other VNs use.
The characters themselves do have their own personalities, though it is sometimes inconsistent with their initial portrayals. The MC is a bit of a douche and thick, but all the women seem to ease up to him quite easily. You could argue it's the incubus magic, but honestly it just feels like poor writing and a cheap excuse to justify it. I'm not really a fan of the MC, he jjust feels a bit too lubberly.
The scene quality is fantastic. The animation quality is some of the best out there and the dialogue is good too (not too much text but not too little as well). The scenes are also all really easy to obtain as this is pretty much a kinetic VN as the important choices are highlighted in game.
Overall, it is a decent game which is carried by the animation and render quality but i wouldn't recommend because of how dumb the MC is. C-tier

In a Scent

I absolutely adore this sexy gem.

Pros:

- Amazing renders

- Gorgeous Girls

- MC isn't a pansy (finally a VN with an assertive MC!)

- Animations are really well done, I usually don't care for animations but the ones in this are very high end, smooth and even have good physics (on the characters and their clothing for example)

- Ma ; fucking hell, she is so damn thick and curvy, and probably one of, if not the best looking MILF I have seen in a Visual Novel so far personally.

- I REALLY appreciate the fact that there are only 3 girls in this so far, I can't tell you how tired I am of VN's that chuck 20+ LI's in your face instead of focusing on just a few quality girls at a time.

I really hope Domiek sticks with just the three (Ma, Rayna and Selene) I love the focus! Quality over quantity always, if only more developers would think this way. I don't have to worry about a girl I favor not getting enough screen time within the updates, and it's not going to become an over bloated mess like so many VN's tend to! Big, BIG pro. I cannot stress enough how good this is.

- The writing and grammar is way above what is "standard" around here and even the humor is funny. I really enjoy the MC not being a Gary Stu or John Goodman for once also.

- I love how steamy the scenes and dialogue can get. I love that Ma is married... albeit to a fat, lazy and ugly cuck who doesn't want to fuck her (because of course he doesn't, what kind of man would want to fuck his wife that's way out of his league?!) but still...it adds more when there are obstacles and you are taking something that belongs to someone else I really wish there were more VN's where the MC makes a chick cheat. I just wish it wasn't always the case of the chick not getting fucked by her fat, lazy husband. Why can't we steal a happily married woman that is married to a decent and attractive guy!? Maybe one day... but this definitely does the job regardless.

Cons:

- Honestly for once, I can't think of anything I didn't like. If there was anything I didn't like, it definitely didn't annoy me enough to list.

A review isn't very fun without any cons though so....

I wish there was more content, because I love it and I am an impatient fucker who hates waiting.

All in all...this is great. If you like games with an MC that isn't a pansy, an actual focus on the chicks he's screwing (quality over quantity for the win!) and a plot that is fun with some gorgeous renders and animation to boot, In a Scent doesn't disappoint in the slightest.

Most of the devs around here use the same tools and models. But some really know hot to make women HOT.

Doesnt hurt that there´s a nice twist to the usual incest story and the dialogue sometimes is funny as hell.

In the last update (1.03) things got better: story got better, dialogue got funnier and the chicks hotter??

Forgot to review this Masterpiece, honestly one of the funniest games on this site, played it since the last version, and man, I could not get this game out of my head, tried other humor games and none came even close.

Not only the Humor, but the Renders are on another level.
As an Ass man, this game gets me going, not many have this amount of high quality and fresh body models, I didn't see these models used in other games.

Music and Sound is also on point, very well picked!

Amazing game. Renders are top-notch, sex scenes are extremely hot and female models are just gorgeous. The plot is totally ridiculous but somehow it works and the humour here is perfect. It also has the prefect mix of teasing and actual steamy action.

All in all one of the best games I've played, definitely. If you're into MILFs you can't choose a better game.

thi game is one of the most bonkers funny and outright impressive games i have ever seen on here ... the writing does not take anything serious the humour is great and works ... the art is great and the animations are top notch and there all made by the dev no shop bought seen a million times here ... for a version 1 its impressive how much is here and it is very very hot ... can recomend this enough especially if you like humour in the games such as say personal trainer or power vacume ... cant wait for more from this dev

- Story: 4.5/5 - Lovely generic, yet comedic, story with a bit of a twist on it. True VN structure with only a few limited fake choices you can make. Short-medium length as of current version.
- Quality of renders/animations/scenes: 5/5 - Very well animated scenes with well rendered characters.
- Frequency of lewd scenes: 4/5 - Perfectly paced lewd scenes if you ask me. A 5/5 rating would mean you're pretty much thrown scene after scene which is not necessarily a good thing.

Greatly enjoyed my time with this VN. Never thought I'd really be into maledom or anything but the story fits the maledom aspect of the game well and the maledom was done quite respectfully here, which can also be a pro or a con depending on your mood. MC looks and acts like an odd goofball but it genuinely fits his character and the story. All in all would recommend.

Freakin Amazing!
Its been a while since I've played something that has such good humor filled writing and yet doesn't make the story obselete while doing that. The characters all have their own persona and the overall plot is something that has great potential.
On the technical note, the models look amazing, there was no need for animations but they are there as well, and overall the flow of the story makes me not want to pause and experience it all.

I think that, in addition to the scenes, dialogues, situations and the entire narrative in general being extremely high quality and captivating to play, a very important fact that made me come here and give 5 stars to this game is the that the protagonist is extremely fun. The facial expressions, jokes, the way he handles things, brought me an honest laugh in several situations, which is a very welcome uniqueness compared to many other games that leave the protagonist's personality aside.
